Year 3 Hillier Gardens Visit
All about plants - and newts!
On Monday 10th June, Year 3 went to Sir Harold Hillier Gardens, just outside Romsey. It was a beautiful day and was the perfect place to launch our Science learning for this term. We learnt about seed survival, seed dispersal and even had the chance to do some pond dipping. The creatures we found in the ponds were fascinating, we found palmate newts and dragonfly nymphs, to mention just two.
We looked at bamboo and crossed a wobbly bridge, which all added to the fun. Looking at the vegetable garden and learning about compost and how the plants grew was also a highlight.
Year 3 say it was the best trip ever!
