Year 4 Wessex River Trust

Year 4 Wessex River Trust Visit

This term, Year 4 were visited by the Wessex River Trust. They began the day with an interactive assembly, showing the children the different elements of a river, including physical features and animals that may live in each part. All the children were able to get involved and helped create a 3D model of the river journey from the source to mouth!

After this, in their classes, the children spent time with Kate and Amy from the River Trust investigating the different types of fresh water invertebrates. Children were able to look at the invertebrates from the Bourne River and classify them into different categories. We also used a microscope to look at the invertebrates in more detail! We had an amazing day!
